An English Heritage site, St Botolph's Priory was founded in 1100 and even in its ruined state the priory church is an impressive example of early Norman architecture, and the elaborate west front is one of the best surviving examples from this period. Entry is free and dogs on leads are welcome to join you while you enjoy looking at Colchester history.
