Hi I'm Titch, an 8 year old Cairn x Jack Russell x Maltese. I found my forever home with Holly and Alex when I was 6 months old. I knew straight away I loved them and they loved me. They took me for walks, played with me and dad taught me lots of tricks like, sit, paw, down, up and my favorite twist!

Mum and dad both work full time but they make sure I have everything I need while they are at work, food, water, toys a plenty and a dog flap so I can go outside to play, sunbathe in summer and do my business. From day one I knew I had landed on my paws.

Mum initially would come home at lunchtime to check I was settling in and soon noticed I had a passion for post! Who can blame me, its exciting having something drop through the door! So much so that I would grab it, throw it about causing it to rip and apparently taking it out to the garden on a rainy day was not acceptable. This was when dad fitted a box on the other side of the front door for the postman to leave the post in. Of course this does not stop me from barking when the postman arrives.

One of the great things about living with mum and dad is that we go to lots places. They take me everywhere with them, to family, to friends, on holiday and to the gliding club. Dad is a very keen glider pilot so during the season he will spend nearly every weekend at the club, flying his glider. Mum and I don't go every time but when we do, its lots of fun. There is so much space for me to run around, lots of people to meet and plenty of walks for mum and I to explore.

I mentioned mum and dad taking me with them on holiday, well this was when the seed for HoundAbout was planted. Mum would spend hours trawling the internet to find all the dog friendly things we could do while away. Not only places to stay, eat or drink but also days out and activities we could do together as a family. Now there are of course plenty of dog friendly places but finding them was proving harder than mum thought it would be or needed to be. Hours were spent searching websites for those two special words "dog friendly" and after a number of phone calls later mum would finally have a plan and feel satisfied the holiday would be fun for us all.

With mum having spent important cuddling and playing hours searching, this got us thinking! Wouldn’t it be great if there was one place you can go and search for all the things needed for a trip away or day out with your dog! Ta da HoundAbout was born.

HoundAbout allows you to search by activity or location to find all the dog friendly places near you, leave your dog’s comments about the places you have visited together and recommend your favourite places to be added to the community so that others can also enjoy them.

Now this is the important bit! You may or may not have noticed in the last paragraph the words "leave your dog’s comments". Yes you have read that right, I want to know what your furry family member thought about their dining out experience or did they enjoy a drink at the local or maybe they had fun on a day out with the family. Why? Because I know its important to my mum and dad that we all feel comfortable and enjoy our time together and I'm sure you feel the same so lets share our experiences.

This is our biggest adventure so far and I'm excited we get to share it with you.

Until the next adventure.....
